NOVEMBER 2013 - Practitioners Advice with Kym Hughes

Men's Health at a Glance

It seems with a lot of men the only time they take notice of their bodies is when they break down. If only they put as much care into their bodies as they do their cars, tools, boats etc....
A lot of the time women in a man's life, mother, wife or girlfriend do the look out; and after the men!

Men are hard on their bodies and need them to be strong and healthy. Often with little thought of nutrition, plenty of thought of hunger they often eat on the run.

To compensate for this; men need to consider:

  • A multi-vitamin supplement in addition to a good nutrition plan, specifically aimed at men to ensure daily nutrient quota
  • A liver supplement for the hard working liver - Milk thistle for live detox
  • A multi-B supplement to take care of the nervous system and help minimize stress
  • Magnesium for the muscular system
  • If over 40, a supplement to aid prostate health and to support normal make physiology function
  • A yearly medical check-up
By following this plan your man's health should be in great condition to tackle the work, or that clean up you have been trying to get him to start for the last few weeks.

The author wishes to express this article was written with generalizations in mind. It is always a good idea to consult your medical practitioner or health care expert when considering changes to your normal health and well-being routine.

NOVEMBER 2013 - Words of Wisdom with Mario

Hello Club Members,

On the 12th of this month we officially open the upgrade at Calanna Pharmacy Woree. It has been a 2 year project in planning and building. We are extremely happy with the result and we hope you also will be happy with the extra services we will be able to provide.

There is only about 1.5 metres of front wall and a steel beam above - that is still part of the original Pharmacy building opened in 1976.

Throughout the 9 months of construction - we have had many “customer inconvenient” times. And our team members have had to adjust to these  movements and changes along the way.

I wish to thank each of you for your commitment and your loyal support and for keeping the end product in mind.

Calanna has been known as  a Health destination - A place where focus on the customer takes centre stage - A place where we are able to provide and link each customer to or with the medication, food, complementary medicine or relevant Allied Health practitioner required.

With our expanded area of four consulting rooms and a dedicated Compounding Room – we will be able to       provide more professional services to complement our Sleep Apnea and Naturopathic Clinic.

Each one of us is responsible for our health. We only have one body and we take it everywhere we go. As a        population are generally living longer and many diseases such as Diabetes and Mental Illness are on the rise.  I believe we can prevent them or control them through changes in our lifestyle, exercise, movement, food and fluid intake, nutrients, medications and enjoying what we do.

We are each born for a purpose – to help our community in some way and to be fulfilled in what we do. We need a mindset of optimism, action and learning and we need to build relationships, good social networks and have the ENERGY to do these.

At Calanna we want to help you be “the you - you are meant to be”. We want to help you when you are CROOK and we want to stop you getting CROOK.

Make the decision to strive for Zest for Life – Feel Alive|Feel Healthy|Feel Good

Calanna Pharmacies “Not only for when you’re  feeling Crook”

Take Care, Mario
