Holding on to hope

"Hope has often been imagined as an unrealistic longing without action, without commitment and without concrete meaning. Yet a variety of studies by contemporary psychologists have concluded that hope is more than an escape for dreamers and much more than a feeling. It is, instead, a way of thinking and behaving; it requires us to have the ability, not just the desire, to exert influence on our lives in order to change our world."

Mario's Words of Wisdom for June.......

Hello Club Members and welcome to our 35th Birthday milestone,
Last month I wrote about how we commenced Calanna Pharmacy, people who supported me and the vision of the business. One word I emphasised was “gratitude.”  Rarely does anyone achieve much by themselves. Leadership, culture, drive, innovation, energy, communication and connection are all required to deserve loyalty - loyalty from team members and loyalty from our customers.
It is with a real sense of humility and gratitude that I acknowledge the loyalty of our customers. Day by day as I visit the Pharmacy’s, I can always have a chat with someone who has been coming to Calanna for 25 or more years. Their loyalty has been so strong that their children and grandchildren are also part of the Calanna Pharmacy family. I need each of you to know that you are appreciated and recognised as the most important part of our health and well-being business.
Today there are many choices available to obtain products and information. I believe that what maintains this loyalty connection is how people feel when they enter and when they leave the Pharmacy. These are times where a larger number of people have higher anxiety levels, more pressures in their daily lives and need more support and direction, as a result.
This is why our culture of influence, information, support and empowerment has stood, and will continue to stand, the test of time and challenges. I, therefore, acknowledge the wonderful past and present team members, who listen to and apply this culture that is so intrinsic and essential to Calanna and in bringing … ‘Zest for Life’ to our customers and the community.
I hope you enjoy our Birthday with us and feel part of it as well.
“Love someone when they least deserve it, because that is when they need love the most”
Let us spread this challenge together……………Mario

MEN, are you on top of your GAME?

Why is it that Men don’t like going to the Doctor?  Well, below are some common reasons why men don’t get regular check ups; Do they sound familiar?

Men can be scared the check ups will lead them to hospital
Men are embarrassed to discuss their health issues
Men find it too hard to get to their GP’s because of limited opening hours
Men can’t be bothered making an appointment

Most men don’t want to admit they have a health issue and tend to let it “linger” on and feel they would be wasting their GP’s time on trivial or  potentially embarrassing problems.  “It’s not bad enough to see a doctor”

MEN, there’s a better chance to overcome or catch health issues before they overtake if you just get regular check ups as this will ensure you stay on top of your GAME!

Lets now take a walk along the ‘wonder years’ timeline to determine and outline some of the tests to undertake throughout your life.  For more information, discuss with your GP.
